This haunting novella is a dream of a (hopefully distant) time, in which the world has undergone a near-terminal self-inflicted, environmental catastrophe... the signs are already here. Populations have been decimated and London, along with all the great cities, lies in ruins. Hope arrives from the skies in the form of a colonising race of talented and beautiful people who guide the remaining near feral survivors to build themselves a wonderful and idyllic future. But perhaps independence and self-determination are more important than a life of plenty, pleasure and luxury.
