The Art of Prayer is most likely the best introductory guide to beginning and advancing the spiritual life available today. What is contained in part in many other books, is summarized and laid out in an easy 'how-to-guide' for the spiritual life. This could be retitled 'How to Become a Saint For Dummies'. Although excellent for a beginner, advanced students of the Science of the Saints will find much help in this book written in the middle of the last century for modern people.
