Beginning in 1961 until the end of the Vietnam War, tens of thousands of Army Security Agency soldiers fought there. Selected stories by some of these soldiers are told in their own words of their experiences. They tell of combat and personal character and of humor and of the horrors of war. They tell of valor and incompetence by both American and Vietnamese leaders. They tell of compassion by both Americans and Vietnamese. Conflicts between officers and enlisted appear in several stories and outcomes of these conflicts. And they tell of the consequences of war to those who fought there....
