Helen James is on her way home from school, on the bus when a 'Visitant' collects her and takes her across the Universe to their home cloud. Hyming and his father, Zacred had rowed and this was tearing the 'Visitants' apart. Pyling, Hymings younger sister had risked her life to fetch Helen to help bring them back together.

After 2 unsuccessful attempts to solve a problem on planet Drogan the 'Visitants' decided that they would have to call in Helen James, their 'Good' from Earth. Her first task was to find out why the planet's beings were dieing and once this was discovered she had to stop it. The nearby planet of Flym was stealing their Oxigen Helen found out how and why and then set about putting it right before both planets were destroyed.

Helen James is on her way home on her bicycle when she is hit by a large van and sent up into the air. She never hit the ground as Hyming, a Visitant wrapped himself around her and took her across the universe to help sort our a problem
