In 1980 I voted for the first time as an adult. I was 21 years old. I went to the GOP convention in Dallas and sold campaign buttons for the Reagan/Bush campaign. It was thrilling. As a native Texan I had grown up believing in the Republican party, in Conservative principles, and economic theory.
