The year is 1936. Tyler Pittman is a timid, cowardly reporter from Savannah, Georgia. He has moved to the ourskirts of Savannah to the tiny community of Black Ankle. He is viciously attacked by a werewolf, and from there his life spirals downward. He learns that he must seek the help of a mysterious witch known as the Blackwater Hag, to remove the curse from the werewolf bite. During his quest, he is pursued by moonshiners, and a host of other dastardly characters.
