The Tao Te Ching has been around for perhaps 2,500 years. Bruce Lee, and other martial artists including my instructors, quoted from it extensively. The advantage of a rhyming version is that it can be read with rhythm, for that quieter part of the mind one works with in the higher levels of spirituality, and martial arts. Parts of the original were rhymed. The Hsin Hsin Ming, or Way of the Heart, along with George Ohsawa's principles, are also presented in rhyme.
