Scrooge, a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner is visited by three Spirits who mean to reform him. He is reprieved from a fate of forever roaming the earth dragging cash-box and chains behind by a promise to hold the spirit of Christmas in his heart all year long. Lucifer, however, is displeased at losing his best, though unwitting, servant in the City and sends three demons in human guise to return Scrooge to the dark path by the next Christmas.
