Jack McCarty, a park ranger, is called to the scene of a fatal bear attack in Yellowstone. The death is not what it seems, and the investigation uncovers a vicious serial killer whose motives are as explosive as the magma bubbling beneath Yellowstone itself. Assisted by the FBI, Jack pursues the murderer across the wilderness as geologists, monitoring a seismic event, are drawn into the chase with disastrous consequences.
