The research explores how Yahweh, God of the Oppressed liberated the Hebrews from the religious, socio-economic and political oppression. Such kind of oppressionn was orchestrated by the Egyptian Pharoahs. The research uses the liberation- theological method to substantiate its argument.The work examines four aspects; firstly it traces the historicity of the Exodus to determine whether the Exodus was historical or mythical.
