Adults of Rhyzopertha dominica were treated by filter paper impregnation method with five doses of pesticides of different groups such as cypermethrin, lorsban, Acorus calamus extract, trend and shogun, and LC50 was calculated. Biochemical analysis revealed that after treatment with LC50 of pesticides, cypermethrin inhibited 80% alkaline phosphatase activity, lorsban 44.17%, A. calamus extract 49.87%, trend 25% and shogun inhibited 20% activity as compared to control. This work is concerned with the determination of blood parameters, enzyme levels, blood chemistry and pesticide residues in the blood samples from different divisions of Sindh and from different farm field of rural areas of Sindh in comparison with unexposed persons (control). Total 177 blood samples from 59 persons (exposed to pesticide) were collected, to assay the pesticide residues in their blood and also observed the biochemical and hematological changes in the blood of affected persons. Such work has not been done on this aspect. So this is the first comprehensive work on this aspect....
