Despite individual efforts by various institutions to gather information on forest energy resources, Brazil is still lacks regular, systematic statistics on woodfuels production and consumption. The high degree of dispersion of consumers, the prevalence of informal markets and easy access to natural woodfuels reserves, make systematic data collection a difficult task.
