Edgar J. Goodspeed (1871-1962) was Ernest DeWitt Burton Distinguished Service Professor of New Testament at the University of Chicago. He published more than sixty books, including The New Testament: An American Translation, An Introduction to the New Testament, A History of Early Christian Literature, and Paul.
