This seven-minute concert overture recalls the early days of the railways, and one of the most famous engines of all time, `The Rocket'. It was commissioned by the Director of the North Hertfordshire Wind Band, Phillip Ellis, who is the great-great-great-grandson of Stephenson, and depicts the Victorian carnival atmosphere on the day of the engine's inauguration.
