Abandoned as a baby, moved from foster home, to foster home, sixteen year old Sophia decides to take control of her own life and runs away. Taken in by Rebecca, a supply Art teacher who had taught her for a few months, her life now changes. She now has a permanent home with someone who cares about her, for the first time ever she is happy. At the end of her second year at university, Rebecca is killed by a drunk driver, leaving Sophia devastated and alone. Whilst still mourning Rebecca's death, a friend convinces her to travel with him to Germany to get away from her suddenly empty home....
