This is the story of King Cyrus and the people of Babylon, and how they worshipped idol gods instead of the one true God. This led to the destruction of Bel and the Dragon by the hands of the prophet Daniel. Serving other gods is vain and worthless. There is only one God, who is worthy of worship, and that is the God of your Holy Bible and none else. Serving any other gods is to your own hurt. (Jeremiah 25:6-7)

God had ordained what days are ordinary, and which days He had made High Days and hallowed them as feast days for the Israelites. Many generations have strayed away from the way they are suppose to serve God; they have taken heed to the way of the stranger, celebrating man's pagan holidays. We have to serve God the way we are ordained to and not the way we want to. There are man's philosophies and opinions, and then there is the truth. (Ecclesiasticus 33: 7-9)

Jonah was ordered to go to the city of Nineveh to preach the word of God. He tried to escape from his responsibility. Jonah learned quickly that he could not escape from God's wrath. The Lord is merciful when you repent from evil.

And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him; Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength. And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation, unto the end of the earth. (Isaiah 49:5-6)
