The cognitive flexibility enables people to adapt to changing requirements by reviewing their own thoughts and acts. Employees with a high cognitive flexibility have shown to adapt easier to changes in their professional career. Steemers' research shows that this flexibility decreases earlier than generally assumed and traditional methods to stimulate longer employability turn out to be inefficient.
