Deceptions explores the tale of a young woman as she maneuvers life in the racially-charged South of the mid-1900s. In one day, the course of her life was changed by the actions of one woman - an event that cost her the lives of nearly her entire family. Trying to put the losses aside, the young woman eventually enters a world where the color of her skin means everything, and oddly enough, could cost her as much as that one life changing event.
