DCI Hickman is transferred to Northumberland, a group of four men start a campaign of robberies which results in the murder of a police officer. Follow Hickmans hunt for the robbers. One of the four men is a soilder on medical leave, he loses his mind and leaves a trail of murder, rape and assasination behind him. Hickman has the Chief Constable breathing down his neck for results. Just as he makes a step forward something happens and turns it all back into a nightmar
