Favoritism and deceit plague Isaac family. Relationships between family members are broken and destroyed. The birthright and blessing are at stake. In spite of all that goes wrong, however, God remains faithful to the covenant promise He made with Abraham. Like Isaac and his family, our hope is not anchored in what we do or how we live but in God's faithful love for us offered in Christ Jesus.

Joseph lived both unencumbered by hatred and liberated to forgive even though he was mistreated by his brothers, unjustly thrown into prison and forgotten. The Lord was with Joseph and caused him success in all he did. His brothers intended to harm him, but God used their evil treatment to accomplish His righteous purposes.

God delivered His people from the tyranny and oppression of Egypt. He called Moses to be His appointed deliverer, the one who would represent Him to Pharaoh and His people. These Bible stories reveal God's great love for His people. Discover His passion to deliver all humanity from bondage and to release them to live lives free and forgiven.

The years Israel spent in the wilderness are recorded in the Books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The cycle of their life together included obedience and then disobedience, God's punishment and Israel's repentance and return to an obedient life. God's faithfulness continued to be tested but His commitment to His promise never wavered.

The time came for Israel to take possession of their inheritance. Now Joshua was their leader. When the Ark of the Covenant moved out, the people followed. The Book of Joshua recounts some of the stories of Israel's conquests while the Book of Judges reports to us that "again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord."

The books of Ruth and First Samuel introduce three characters. Ruth, a foreigner, loved the God of Israel. Samuel, a prophet, served the Lord in the tabernacle in Shiloh. Because the Israelites wanted to be like other nations, they insisted on having a king in spite of the Samuel's warning. Saul was anointed king of Israel. The people and their king rejected God and chose to rebel against Him.

We experience God's mercy in the stories of First and Second Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles. The life of David as shepherd and king, the decline of Solomon's reign as the wise king, and the voices of the prophets Elijah and Elisha who rebuked the Israelite kings, all give witness to God's unfailing love for His people.

The reluctant witness of Jonah, the exemplary lives of Daniel and his friends, and the courageous act of Queen Esther are examples to us of God's activity in the lives of His people even in the face of oppressive captivity. Ezra and Nehemiah give the historical account of Israel's return to the ruins of the land, the temple, and the city of Jerusalem.

God's mission throughout history has been calling all humankind back into a relationship with Him. His plan is about to unfold as His only Son, our Champion, comes as a Baby and lives among us. These stories will reveal who Jesus is, the promised Messiah, the Christ, our Savior, and ultimately the Victorious One over sin and death.

Of all the love stories in the world, this is the greatest It is the Father's story of His Son's suffering and death. Part 1 includes Jesus' ride into Jerusalem, time alone with His disciples, the betrayal of Judas and the denial of Peter, His arrest, trial, sentence, and crucifixion. No one knew what to do with Jesus. He was innocent, the sinless Son of God
