As America slides into harsh times, he increasingly embraces a lifestyle of minimalism, humor and communion, which he comes to appreciate as a form of human redemption. The hallucinogen is culted as a sort of secular sacrament in sometimes hilarious ways throughout this piece of subversive writing.
