Scott grew up in Austin, Texas. He has studied at Howard Payne University where he received his B.A. in Greek and Hebrew. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with an M.Div. concentrating in Missions. He also studied Arabic and Islamic Studies in North Africa before moving to Scotland as a missionary with the International Mission Board leading the Scotland team in Evangelism strategies.
