Pavlovian conditioning is argued to provide a basis for understanding predictive learning in humans. Extending this idea to a neurobiological account requires an understanding of integrated brain activity between regions. One means of integration may be through synchronous activity between participating neural networks, evident in the human EEG as changes in amplitude, phase and frequency. This work examined conditional changes in alpha amplitude, to see if it could provide an index of the integrated brain activity involved in associative learning.
