Detective Tom Phillips is called on to investigate the murder of the owner of a petrol station in a quiet village. He and his partner have to wait to question the suspect to see what transpired in the events leading up to the murder. What happens in between reveals the secrets behind the attack and also the identity of an unknown entity. A murder committed long ago rears its head at the same time as the apparition's appearance. The story goes back and forth from the past to the present until the mystery behind the Light is revealed.
