This work describes tasks that have been used successfully in a range of contexts and countries and are often examples of a broader category of tasks of illustrative of techniques for developing a particular understanding in primary age students.

This volume emerges from discussions during the ICMI study on teacher professional development. The volume successfully incorporates the ICMI theme into relevant research and innovative practices dealing with tasks for mathematics teachers.
