After beeing forcibly divorced by my wife or eighteen years, I had every conceivable difficulty in becoming once more a bachelor who had never learnt the ropes related to housekeeping and who now had to live alone. Learning simple things such as leaving 'home' with its keys in my pocket were traumatic, and on several occasions I had to "break into" my own home in order to get in. I then decided that it would be interesting to write a book that could help the unwary solve 'little' problems such as remembering where the light switches were, and proceeded to do so in humor.
