This book of poems came about after my Mother passed away on Valentine's Day. I went through my archives and found some of my older poetry and decided to take up writing again. Having been blessed by God, the poems keep pouring forth onto paper and I wish to share my experience, hope and strength with you, the dear reader. I believe in the power of words, whether written, spoken or through gestures and sign language. Words can enlighten, dampen the spirit, raise us to great heights and take us to the lowest points in our lives.

Do you live in Scotland, Denmark, China or Peru? Do you live in Paris, London, Moscow or Berlin? You can live in any these places and still live in America. There is Indiana, PA, Florida, NM and Honolulu, NC. Many family names (first, second and last) are found in the towns and communities where we live all across America. One may also find a variety of interesting, even fun names, including Asylum, Bamboo and Cow Yard. For over thirty years now I have believed that the main purpose of the Lord's Prayer was not give to us as a prayer to be quoted daily or weekly. I also do not believe the main purpose was to serve as a model prayer. Although both these terms are used in this writing because the reader knows exactly what is meant by the use of these terms.
