The author traces the origins of the horse in Europe, Asia, and North Africa and, in particular, on the Iberian Peninsula. Drawing on archaeological evidence and ancient texts, he explains the development of the horse from hunted animal to domesticated working horse. The author is past President of the Brazilian Association of Lusitano Horse Breeders.
