Many embassies of foreign countries in Washington D.C. were contacted in order to assemble national slogans for this book. Behind every slogan is usually a story. This book includes several of them. National slogans are often very revealing of a nation's values, goals and aspirations.

This book was written in response to the wishes of several readers of my book, Propaganda Techniques, who wanted to have me probe somewhat deeper into the subject of propaganda. After some discussions with teachers and students, I used some of their ideas to come up with ten questions. This gave me the title of this book, Propaganda: A Question and Answer Approach, Having developed a list of question I went about the task of trying to answer them as best as I could. My hope is that the book will be useful to teachers, students, persuasive writers and advertisers as well as general readers.

Understanding the Constitution has been primarily designed for secondary school students of United States history and government. The book's usefulness extends to immigrants taking citizenship courses as well as adult general readers. The text includes informative essays, charts, graphs, twenty-five lessons, quizzes, examinations, topic locator, glossary, copies of the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution of the United States, as well as a selected bibliography.
