The summary of the study was that the mere presence of ventriculomegaly on CT scan, Ultrasound or MRI cannot be used as an indication for CSF drainage in hydrocephalus. Transcranial Doppler Sonography and more specifically the application of Pressure Provocation Test is a more useful modality for evaluation of altered cerebral compliance and cerebral blood flow and thus can be used to monitor and follow up children with hydrocephalus to determine the necessity and effectiveness of CSF drainage or shunting
