This book is a fascinating portrait of the life of St Frances of Rome. It is based on writings by her confessor, Mattiotti, who wrote down her visions and ecstasies for a period of ten years. He also put together a history of her life and after her death wrote a biography, which is now to be found in the Bollandist collection (Venice, 1735, vol. ii.). It also includes the lives of Blessed Lucy of Narni, Dominica of Paradiso, and Anne de Montmorency.
