Here is a collection of poems by Acie Cargill and a few friends. The poems deal with love in the modern world. It is difficult to find true love and even more difficult to maintain it. Computer mediated love, same sex love, gender neutral love, old loves, new loves, married love, incest, misanthropy, misogyny, polygamy, swingers, outright cheating, stalking, young love, senior love, avoidance of love, depression, understanding sexuality, and sexual promiscuity. These are a few of the topics covered in this book. It is hard to imagine a general subject that has inspired more poems, music, and...

This is a collection of 52 journalistic poems inspired by the rise of terrorism in the world and the war against it. Terror seems to be an effective technique for technologically unsophisticated combatants to have a chance of defeating a superpower like the US, Britain, France, China, and Russia. In the terror discussed in this poetry book, it is predominantly used by Islamic jihadists against the Western world, which includes the Israelis. Their fighters include bombers, both suicide bombers and roadside bombers, and brutal, dedicated militants who fight with guns and grenade launchers. They...

Chronicles is a collection of 65 poems by Acie Cargill. They concern events and people he has either observed or thought about. They are written in a journalistic poetry style that he learned and developed with his mentors Mark Strand and Gwendolyn Brooks. There are six poems at the end by Lauren Seeley and one by Marlene Broderick. Cargill has written a series of poetry books which will be soon published relating mostly to events and attitudes of the past 50 years. He hopes that future generations will be able to use this material to apprise and evaluate life at this time. Some of the poems...

People seem to have a fascination with outlaws. Joaquin Guzman is the most successful outlaw of all time. He became one of the wealthiest and well-known people in the world by delivering illegal drugs. He never gave speeches and very few interviews. Never wrote much. Very possibly he is illiterate. He didn't go to school. Too far away and he was needed to work in the marijuana and opium poppy fields his family tended. He is a genius at seeing and seizing opportunities, usually concerning making money illicitly. He is a tough guy and he sticks to doing his business and not getting involved...

This is a series of biographical portrayals of the three greatest athletes of my generation. There are touches of their big moments and an attempt to portray who they were as individuals, not just as sport's giants. Walter Payton is a legendary running back for the Chicago Bears, Michael Jordan was probably the best basketball player ever, and Muhammad Ali was the most exciting boxer ever. Three super athletes. The book is written in play form and is probably very well suited to be a staged reading. If you like sports, this book is for you. Easy to understand and captures the drama of the...

This play is based on an actual sadhu that I had met and talked with many times. His Indian name was Shunyatti, but he preferred being called Mr. Nobody. He was an extremely gentle person and seemed to prefer being in a meditative state, but he was willing to talk with me and I did make actual recordings of some of his wisdom. His words were usually his own, but much of what he thought about and said had been passed down to him through sadhu traditions. Sadhus are considered holy men in India and their wisdom is highly respected. This play begins when Peter Berg from the Ginsburg Foundation...
