Blaine and his mother continue to live with Uncle ABE. They plan to make Monfield their permanent home. Blaine is determined to convince his mother to build a log cabin on Uncle ABE's property. New friendships emerge, as old ones are put to the test. Blaine's mother and Mr. B begin to develop a strong friendship. Tommy begins to hang with the wrong crowd. This means Blaine and the others are faced with losing one of their best friends.
