Centrifugal pumps are commonly used over a broad range of services from pumping water in a city's drinking system to pumping oil within a machine, and are characterized by high, smooth flows at pressure up to 3000 psi. and are less costly to operate and maintain. The author offers an applications-based approach to the design and analysis of the most commonly used pumps.
