Importance of research work This work is preliminary based on herbal alternatives(Ocimum sanctum)to combat root canal infections. Findings include that O. sanctum is a bio-compatible medication having profound antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties. With increase in patients resistance towards antimicrobial to treat root canal infections this herbal alternative can create wonders & increase the chance of successful outcome of root canal therapy when used as intra canal medicament
