Volume 1 will cover the period from December 1940 to April 1942 and published in December 2013, Volume 2 will be available in December 2014 and will cover the period from May 1942 to May 1943, Volume 3 will be released in December 2015 and will cover the period from June 1943 to May 1945, one volume per year.

Few color photographs exist from World War II and even fewer when they show a unit of the Waffen-SS. The SS-Kriegsberichter Mitcshke was able to benefit from this technology, not widespread at the time, with a report of forty photographs showing the SS-Gebirgs-Division "Nord" on the Finnish front.

The photographs offer a varied panorama of the life of this division in the spectacular setting of the forest of Carelie. This book is also an opportunity to provide new information to this unit compared to the text published in the 'Dictionary of the Waffen-SS'.
