This is a programmatic statement of Gifi's general philosophy and the way in which it is implemented on the digital computer. It is a non-standard treatment of multivariate data analysis, with the emphasis on plotting observations and variables in low dimensional Euclidean space. Less emphasis than usual is given to regression and analysis of variance.
