Mapping the Muse: A Bicentennial Look at Indiana Poetry is the culmination of a project originated by Brick Street Poetry, Inc. designed to celebrate Indiana's 200th year by presenting a glimpse of poetry in Indiana. The Birthday Book project is an endorsed Bicentennial Legacy Project recognized by the Indiana Bicentennial Celebration 2016. Mapping the Muse consists of poetry representing a wide range of experience: from every-day poets to university professors; from high school students to senior poets in their 90s; and a collaborative poem by a 5th grade class in Perry County.

Words & Other Wild Things is a Poetry Alive project sponsored by Brick Street Poetry, Inc. and made possible through grants from the Nicholas H. Noyes, Jr. Memorial Foundation. Poetry Alive takes poetry to children in hospitals, parks, and schools, along with costumed characters who help bring the concepts and words in the poetry to life. Poems are arranged roughly into three sections, and are intended to be of interest and reading level to different age groups: Buzz Words for younger children; Wise Words for older youth; and Wild Words for that group in the middle.
