Thomas Lovell Beddoes (1803-1849) was an English poet and dramatist whose early play The Brides' Tragedy was highly praised. He studied medicine at the Universities of Gottingen and Wurzburg, where his involvement in radical politics led to his deportation. He spent the rest of his life in Switzerland and Germany, continuing to write but showing only occasional and fleeting interest in publication. Reality Street published Bill Griffiths' Collected Earlier Poems (1966-80) in 2010. This successor volume collects work from the following decade, bringing back into print poetry that appeared in hard-to-obtain small editions or was previously uncollected or unpublished. Bill Griffiths was a poet, Anglo-Saxon scholar, book designer, small press publisher, biker, pianist, archivist and social historian. He died in 2007 at the age of 59.
