There have been many changes in secondary education since the 1980s, owing to the introduction of the National Curriculum, a number of Education Acts and reorganization of school management/administration. This text brings together researchers, such as Chris Day, Eric Hoyle and Jenny Ozga, to examine the challenges facing education managers in the changing environment. It focuses particularly on the changes required in the management of teaching staff due to changing concepts of teacher professionality and new statutory duties.
