The Netherlands Interuniversity Demographic Institute (N.I.D.I.- established in 1970 - is mainly concerned with research into the factors which, either directly or indirectly, influence demographic development in the Netherlands. The institute also tries to stimulate and co-ordinate such research and maintains a close working relation ship with the Central Bureau of Statistics and other data collecting and planning agencies.
