David S. Eicher experienced living in country parsonages in north eastern Ohio for the first 17 years of his life. He was in the Navy all during World War II serving in Panama for two years and two years in Florida working as an Aviation Machinist Mate. In 1943 while on a 30 day leave he married a girl that he first met on the first Sunday after he moved to Ravenna following the death of his father. After the war he served for six months on Guam.
