Recent advances in philosophy, artificial intelligence,
mathematical psychology, and the decision sciences have
brought a renewed focus to the role and interpretation of
probability in theories of uncertain reasoning. Henry E.
Kyburg, Jr. has long resisted the now dominate Bayesian
