This collection of papers presents state of the art work on Business Objects and their management presented at Business Object Design and Implementation held at the last three OOPSLA conferences. Business objects are established and widely used in industry. This collection of papers includes a contribution of experiences and research by both academics and practitioners who are renowned in this area. The emphasis of the book is on establishing Business Objects Standards, applications of Business Objects and systems and workflow systems.

This volume contains a collection of papers establishing the need for business objects, with particular reference to work undertaken by the Object Management Group (OMG). The emphasis is on defining an agenda for establishing business object standards and architectures.
