This invaluable volume is dedicated to the memory of Yuri Golfand, one of the pioneers of supersymmetry. Together with his students, he constructed in 1970 the superextension of the Poincare algebra and obtained the first four-dimensional supersymmetric field theory, a version of supersymmetric QED. Golfand died in 1994 in Israel.
Did the pioneers of supersymmetry -- Scherk, Ramond, Golfand, Volkov, Wess, Zumino and others -- foresee in the early 1970's that they would be opening to us the gates of the superworld? The superworld will become one of the most important components of our...

The symposium and workshop "Continuous Advances in QCD/Arkadyfest" was the fifth in the series of meetings organized by the William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute at the University of Minnesota. This meeting brought together leading researchers in high-energy physics to exchange the latest ideas in QCD and gauge theories of strong coupling at large. It honoured the 60th birthday of Professor Arkady Vainshtein, and the papers included in this proceedings volume also look back on the history of the subjects in which Arkady played such a central role: applications of PCAC, penguins,...
