I made two trips to Australia in the early 70's. The first was March of 1971 for 5 months and the second was October 1972 for 2 years. The first trip I landed in Sydney, NSW. We bought a car and traveled North to Coolangatta, Queensland. My second trip I called Byron Bay, NSW my home. I surfed most of the surf spots between Angourie, NSW and Noosa, QLD. Fourty-three ago Byron Bay is not the same community that exists today, The back to nature laid back life style was the popular way to live outside the big cities.
