This book is an outgrowth of courses given by me for graduate students at York University in the past ten years. The actual writing of the book in this form was carried out at York University, Peking University, the Academia Sinica in Beijing, the University of California at Irvine, Osaka University, and the University of Delaware. The idea of writing this book was ?rst conceived in the summer of 1989, and the protracted period of gestation was due to my daily duties as a professor at York University. I would like to thank Professor K. C. Chang, of Peking University; Professor Shujie Li, of...

In this new edition of An Introduction to Pseudo Differential Operators, the style and scope of the original book are retained. A chapter on the interchange of order of differentiation and integration is added at the beginning to make the book more self-contained, and a chapter on weak solutions of pseudo-differential equations is added at the end to enhance the value of the book as a work on partial differential equations. Several chapters are provided with additional exercises. The bibliography is slightly expanded and an index is added.

This authoritative volume comprises the plenary lectures and articles by many of the field's leading researchers who were brought together for the fourth time at the congress of the International Society for Analysis, its Applications and Computation (ISAAC). A wide spectrum of topics in modern analysis is covered by the fully refereed contributions, such as complex analysis, nonlinear analysis, inverse problems, wavelets, signals and images. In particular, important areas--"not given special emphasis in previous meetings--"include special functions and orthogonal polynomials, harmonic...

This volume consists of seventeen peer-reviewed papers related to lectures on pseudo-differential operators presented at the meeting of the ISAAC Group in Pseudo-Differential Operators (IGPDO) held at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey on August 13-18, 2007, and invited papers by experts in the field. Included in this volume are such topics as analysis and partial differential equations related to the Heisenberg group; global analysis and pseudo-differential analysis on non-compact manifolds and manifolds with singularities; Fourier integral operators and Colombeau...

This volume consists of eighteen peer-reviewed papers related to lectures on pseudo-differential operators presented at the meeting of the ISAAC Group in Pseudo-Differential Operators (IGPDO) held at Imperial College London on July 13-18, 2009. Featured in this volume are the analysis, applications and computations of pseudo-differential operators in mathematics, physics and signal analysis. This volume is a useful complement to the volumes "Advances in Pseudo-Differential Operators," "Pseudo-Differential Operators and Related Topics," "Modern Trends in Pseudo-Differential Operators," "New...

The aim of this third edition is to give an accessible and essentially self-contained account of pseudo-differential operators based on the previous edition. New chapters notwithstanding, the elementary and detailed style of earlier editions is maintained in order to appeal to the largest possible group of readers. The focus of this book is on the global theory of elliptic pseudo-differential operators on Lp(Rn). The main prerequisite for a complete understanding of the book is a basic course in functional analysis up to the level of compact operators. It is an ideal introduction for...
