Thermal vibrational convection is concerned with, firstly, the study of vibrational effects on the transfer of heat and mass and secondly, with the study of fluid behaviour under the effect of vibration. This field has applications in hydrodynamics and, increasingly, in the study of heat and mass transfer in microgravity and weightlessness. The mathematical principles and ideas that underline all these and more traditional areas of fluid dynamics are presented here.
