This monograph provides a synopsis of developments in the solute modelling of catchment ecosystems. The volume includes advances in solute modelling particularly at the catchment scale, and stresses the influences of weathering, ecosystems processes and hydrological processes as well as the application of models and modelling principles. It describes how models are used to assess the sensitivity of solute production to environmental change and human influence, focusing upon surface catchments rather than groundwater and soil solutes.
