The issue of a possible relationship between parental perceptions and characteristics of personality development and psychopathology is currently a topic of great interest. Research results reported in a number of scientific articles support the view that negative parental rearing behaviour is a major contributing factor to the development of individual vulnerability and, thus, to the development of psychopathological disorders.
